professional creators who demand fast, stable storage in a refined portable form. With up to 40Gbps transfer speeds, it accelerates large file transfers and backups with ease.

Supporting high-speed NVMe SSDs in both 2230 and 2280 form factors, the ProArt PA40SU enclosure is built for creators who work with large-scale 3D assets and high-resolution 8K RAW content. In internal tests, it transferred up to 2960GB of data in 30 minutes of continuous use without throttling*.

*Based on internal 4TB file transfer tests conducted with ProArt PA40SU and a Phison PS5027-E27T Gen4 SSD. The testing involved continuous large-file data transmission for 30 minutes. Actual transfer time may vary based on SSD used.

Advanced thermal architecture with a four-level smart fan actively prevents thermal throttling to reliably sustain up to 40Gbps transfer speeds. And even during heavy data transfers, the ProArt PA40SU maintains an ultraquiet acoustic profile of just 18.2dB(A).

Achieving consistent 40Gbps performance requires more than just high-end chips; it demands thermal precision. The ProArt PA40SU has an active four-level smart fan to ensure the hardware remains at its optimal operating temperature even after hours of continuous use. This professional-grade thermal management design ensures creators experience uninterrupted productivity.

Specifications

General

Brand

ASUS

Colour

Stealth Black

Form Factor

Ultraslim enclosure, 13.5mm profile

OS Compatibility

Windows 11 / 10, macOS 14.4 or later

Drive

SSD Compatibility

M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (M Key), 2230 / 2280

Supported SSD Capacity

1TB / 2TB / 4TB

Performance

Interface

USB4 with USB-C connector

Backward Compatibility

USB 3.2 Gen 2, USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB 2.0

Speed

Up to 40Gbps

Cooling

Four-level smart cooling fan

Noise Level

18.2dB(A)

Power &
