Acer Predator Helios 16 AI PH16-73 RTX 5090 64GB 1TB Gaming Laptop
The Acer Predator Helios 16 AI PH16-73 RTX 5090 64GB 1TB Gaming Laptop is built for gamers and content creators who need desktop-class GPU power in a portable form. It pairs an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU and a 16-inch WQXGA OLED display running at 240Hz, making it suited to both high-frame-rate gaming and colour-accurate creative work. Full-bandwidth connectivity via Thunderbolt 5, Wi-Fi 7 and 5GbE means it can keep pace with fast external storage and networks.
Why this product
RTX 5090 GPU at up to 175W TGP
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU with 24GB GDDR7 memory runs at a maximum TGP of 175W, placing it among the most powerful laptop graphics configurations available.
240Hz OLED with 100% DCI-P3 colour
The 16-inch WQXGA OLED panel delivers a 240Hz refresh rate, NVIDIA G-SYNC, and full DCI-P3 coverage — useful for both competitive gaming and colour-critical work.
Intel Core Ultra 9 with 24 cores
The Core Ultra 9 275HX runs up to 5.40GHz across 24 cores and includes Intel AI Boost for on-device AI acceleration.
PCIe Gen 5 SSD storage
The M.2 SSD uses a PCIe NVMe 5.0 interface, the current highest tier for laptop storage bandwidth.
Thunderbolt 5 and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity
Two Thunderbolt 5 ports and Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) keep it ready for high-speed external displays, storage, and wireless networks.
Per-key RGB keyboard with anti-ghosting
The Magkey 4.0 keyboard offers 100% anti-ghosting on every key alongside per-key RGB backlighting configurable through PredatorSense.

Best for
- High-frame-rate PC gamers who want RTX 5090 laptop performance and a 240Hz G-SYNC OLED panel without needing a desktop.
- Video editors and colour graders who need a calibrated display — the OLED panel covers 100% DCI-P3 and supports HDR.
- AI and compute workloads that can use the RTX 5090's 24GB GDDR7 VRAM alongside the Intel AI Boost NPU.
- Power users who travel and need full-bandwidth external connectivity via Thunderbolt 5 and 5GbE Ethernet.
- Creators who multitask heavily and benefit from 64GB DDR5-6400 RAM across two channels.
Trade-offs
- Battery-dependant users: the 90Wh battery must power a 175W GPU and 24-core CPU — sustained untethered gaming performance will be limited, and the 330W adapter is required for full power.
- Weight-conscious travellers: at 2.65kg (5.84 lbs.) this is a heavier laptop than thin-and-light alternatives.
- Users who prefer a matte screen: the CineCrystal panel is a gloss finish, which increases reflections in bright environments.
- Touchscreen users: the display does not support touch input.
- Buyers wanting memory upgrades later: both memory slots are already occupied by the 2×32GB configuration and the maximum supported is 64GB, so no expansion is possible.
