ADATA SE880 4TB External SSD Blue - 2000MB/s USB-C
The ADATA SE880 4TB External SSD Blue is a pocket-sized portable drive built for professionals and creatives who need fast, reliable storage away from their desk. It fits in a volume of just 28cc — smaller than an AirPods case — and transfers data at up to 2000 MB/s via USB 3.2 Gen2 x2, letting you work directly from the drive without waiting on slow transfers. It also supports game consoles and multiple operating systems, making it a versatile companion for a range of workflows.
Why this product
Up to 2000 MB/s read and write
USB 3.2 Gen2 x2 enables 20 Gbps throughput — twice as fast as USB 3.2 Gen 2 and four times faster than USB 3.2 Gen 1 — so intensive tasks can be run directly from the drive.
Compact enough to go anywhere
At just 28cc in volume and 31g in weight, it fits in a pocket comfortably and is smaller than an AirPods case.
Broad operating system support
It works with Windows 8 through 11, macOS 10.6 or later, Linux Kernel 2.6 or later, and Android 8.0 or later.
Game console compatible
It supports new-generation game consoles, making it a practical option for storing large game libraries without bulky hardware.
5-year limited warranty
ADATA covers this drive with a 5-year limited warranty, which is longer than the 2- or 3-year terms common on portable storage.
USB-C cable and adapter included
The box contains both a USB Type-C to C cable and a USB Type-C to A cable, so it connects to most ports without a separate adapter.

Best for
- Mobile creatives and content producers who need to edit or work directly from external storage at high transfer speeds.
- Travellers and commuters who want maximum capacity in the smallest possible footprint — 4TB in a 28cc, 31g enclosure.
- Console gamers on the move who need to carry large game libraries and store them on a console-compatible drive.
- Cross-platform users who switch between Windows, macOS, Linux and Android devices and need a single drive that works across all of them.
- Long-term buyers who value a 5-year limited warranty on a portable accessory.
Trade-offs
- Users with older USB-A-only ports will not reach the rated 2000 MB/s speeds, as the drive's full performance requires USB 3.2 Gen2 x2 host support.
- Buyers needing desktop capacities beyond 4TB in this product line — 4TB is the capacity of this variant.
- High-vibration or extreme-temperature environments — the operating temperature range is 5°C to 50°C, and conditions outside that are outside its rated specification.
- Users who require bus power at higher amperages — it operates at DC 5V, 900mA, so hosts that cannot supply that current may not power it reliably.
The SE880 is made for productivity on the go. It supports USB 3.2 Gen2 x2 for fast transmissions, is equipped with a Type-C port, and delivers performance of up to 2000MB/s. This is all packed into a compact form factor with a volume of just 28cc, which is smaller than an Airpods case. These attributes make it perfect for productivity and creativity on the go.
Speed Ahead with USB 3.2 Gen2 x2
The SE880 supports USB 3.2 Gen2 x2, capable of reaching transmission speeds of 20Gb/s. This is twice as fast as USB 3.2 Gen 2 and four times faster than USB 3.2 Gen 1.
Fast Speeds of up to 2000 MB/s
The SE880 is capable of reaching read/write speeds of up to 2000MB/s, which is roughly 20 times faster than ordinary external hard drives, which only reach about 100MB/s. This allows you to directly perform intensive task right on the SE880.
Hassle-Free Compatibility
Supporting many of the latest game consoles, the SE880 is ideal for storing tons of games without taking up too much physical space, perfect for avid console gamers on the go.
