ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 240mm AIO CPU Water Cooler
The ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 240mm AIO CPU Water Cooler is a compact all-in-one liquid cooling solution designed for high-performance CPUs that need efficient thermal management without excessive noise. It features a newly developed pump, extended radiator fin stack, and a dedicated VRM cooling fan to handle sustained loads on modern Intel and AMD systems.
Why this product
Extended fin stack radiator
The 38 mm thick radiator cooling surface has been enlarged by 23%, increasing heat dissipation capacity and liquid volume for sustained thermal performance.
Dedicated VRM cooling fan
A 60 mm PWM-controlled fan provides targeted cooling to the socket area, preventing voltage regulator module thermal throttling during heavy loads or overclocking.
Low-stress mounting frame
ARCTIC's contact frame design minimises mechanical load on the CPU and motherboard, avoiding the deformation caused by Intel's standard ILM mechanism.
Broad socket compatibility
Works across Intel LGA1851, LGA1700 and AMD AM4, AM5 without limitation; LGA1200/115X support available via optional mounting kit.
Intel tested and confirmed
Validated by Intel on flagship processors including the i9-13900K/KF, i9-14900K/KF and i9-13900KS.
Quiet operation at load
PWM-controlled pump and fans deliver strong cooling performance while remaining quiet in noise-normalised testing.

- Older Intel sockets LGA1200, LGA1156, LGA1155, LGA1151 and LGA1150 require an optional LGA1200/115X Mounting Kit.
- Some motherboards with oversized M.2 SSD coolers in the M.2_1 slot may require the included compatible M.2 cooler replacement.
Best for
- High-performance gaming and workstation builds demanding sustained cooling under heavy load.
- Overclocking and competitive tuning where VRM and CPU thermal stability are critical.
- Silent operation builds seeking powerful cooling without loud fan noise.
- Recent Intel and AMD platforms; Intel i9-13900K/KF, i9-14900K/KF and i9-13900KS users specifically.
- Large cases where 45 cm fibre-reinforced tubing allows flexible radiator and pump placement.
Trade-offs
- Compact cases with less than 63 mm of clearance above the CPU socket.
- Older Intel platforms (LGA1200 and earlier) without purchasing an optional mounting kit.
- Motherboards using oversized M.2 slot coolers that physically block the radiator location.
- Budget builds where all-in-one liquid cooling is not necessary for adequate thermal performance.
In independent tests, the Liquid Freezer III clearly stands out from the competition in all price categories, particularly due to its outstanding performance. In noise normalised tests, the Liquid Freezer III shows its true strength, outperforming many competitors with its quiet yet powerful operation.
Like its popular predecessor, it sets new standards in the field of compact water cooling and offers variants with 240, 280, 360 and 420 mm radiators – the non-A-RGB version is available in black, while the A-RGB versions are offered in both black and white.
The cooling surface of the 38 mm thick radiator has been extended by 23% by increasing the fin stack. This not only enables improved heat dissipation, but also a larger liquid volume.
Intel's Independent Loading Mechanism (ILM) deforms the CPU by pressing it into the socket at two points with over 40 kg. This causes pressure in the PCB, the die and the solder layer between the die and IHS (Integrated Heat Spreader). With high thermal load, this can lead to long-term problems. The mounting frame from ARCTIC does not deform the CPU, reduces the mechanical load on the CPU massively, is quick and easy to install and allows the cooler to be screwed onto the CPU's backplate. As a result, mechanical stress on the mainboard and CPU is minimised, cooling performance remains consistent and installation is quick and uncomplicated.
To compensate the lack of airflow from a tower cooler, the Liquid Freezer III works with a revised VRM fan. The 60 mm PWM-controlled fan enables almost silent cooling of the socket area when VRM cooling is insufficient, in cases with poor airflow or especially in overclocking scenarios. This enables a continuously higher load and a longer service life for the voltage converters.
The Liquid Freezer III is equipped with a specially developed PWM-controlled water pump. Equipped with a newly developed PWM-controlled pump, optimised in terms of performance and volume, as well as a coldplate with an extended fin surface and improved water ducts.
The fibre-reinforced 45 cm long tubing of the Liquid Freezer III enables installation even in large cases and effectively prevents evaporation of the coolant.
The Liquid Freezer III is multi-compatible with Intel and AMD sockets. All Liquid Freezer III can be used with the new LGA1851 socket from Intel without limitation. Intel has tested and confirmed the Liquid Freezer III on the i9-13900K/KF, i9-14900K/KF and i9-13900KS in the Enthusiast and Desktop category. In these tests, Intel considered both the mounting with contact frame and the cooler's performance.
*Extend the compatibility with LGA1200, LGA1156, LGA1155, LGA1151 and LGA1150 sockets using the LGA1200/115X Mounting Kit.
Some motherboards are incompatible with the Liquid Freezer III due to oversized SSD coolers in the M.2_1 slot. We provide a suitable M.2 cooler free of charge for affected motherboards.
The product includes the main water block with an integrated pump, a 240mm radiator, two 120mm fans, and necessary cabling and splitters for connection to a motherboard. All materials used in the construction are compliant with RoHS requirements.
