Trade-offs
- Budget buyers: Premium pricing reflects the magnetic switches, wireless tech, and OLED screen.
- Minimalists wanting ultra-compact boards: The 96% layout is larger than 75% or 65% keyboards; it trades compactness for full-featured functionality.
- Users seeking wireless-only operation: No integrated battery; wired USB is required for 8K polling—wireless polling is limited to wired/wireless hybrid mode.
- Typists seeking quiet switches: Magnetic switches and a gasket mount prioritize gaming feedback over silent operation.

Equipped with hot-swappable ROG HFX V2 magnetic switches and a next-gen ROG Hall sensor, it ensures lightning-fast input detection and consistent responsiveness. The 1.47-inch full-color OLED touchscreen shows real-time keyboard status at a glance, including indicators for Caps Lock, connection mode, and PC/Mac profiles. It can also display battery level, media playback info, system metrics like CPU temperature, and custom animations. Paired with a three-way control knob and dedicated side button, it offers seamless access to essential settings.
The Azoth 96 HE uses six dampening layers – four PORON®, one IXPE and one silicone layers – to absorb keystroke vibrations and pinging noise, providing a superior cushioned typing experience.
The ROG HFX V2 Magnetic Switch delivers solid, ultra-precise feel with lightning-fast responsiveness along with a 100-million-keystroke lifespan. The polycarbonate top housing and POM plastic stem and bottom housing ensure ultrasmooth keystrokes, while the walled-stem design enhances stability and keeps out dust and debris. This results in consistently smooth, reliable, and precise keypresses when gaming or typing.
