ASUS ROG Strix XG27WCS 27" QHD 180Hz Curved VA Monitor
The ASUS ROG Strix XG27WCS is a 27-inch curved QHD gaming monitor built for players who want high-refresh smoothness without giving up colour accuracy or ergonomic flexibility. Its Fast VA panel delivers a 1ms GTG response time at up to 180Hz, pairing that speed with a 1500R curve, DisplayHDR 400 certification, and a DCI-P3 95% wide colour gamut. USB Type-C connectivity, a phone-holder stand, and a tripod socket round out a feature set aimed at desk-conscious gamers who need a single cable to a laptop.
Why this product
180Hz refresh rate with 1ms GTG response
The Fast VA panel runs at up to 180Hz over DisplayPort 1.4 and hits a 1ms GTG response time, keeping motion sharp during fast-paced games.
ELMB Sync eliminates ghosting and tearing together
ASUS Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync lets motion blur reduction and variable refresh rate run simultaneously, removing both ghosting and screen tear in a single setting.
FreeSync and G-SYNC Compatible out of the box
Adaptive-Sync is enabled by default and the monitor is certified NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible, so it works with both AMD and NVIDIA GPUs without extra configuration.
Wide colour gamut with HDR400 certification
DCI-P3 95% and sRGB 125% coverage means saturated, accurate colour, while VESA Certified DisplayHDR 400 brings a recognised baseline for HDR content.
USB Type-C with single-cable laptop connectivity
The USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and delivers 7.5W of power delivery, so a compatible laptop can connect and charge with one cable.
Fully adjustable ergonomic stand with tripod socket
Tilt, swivel, pivot, and 120mm of height adjustment are all included, and a tripod socket lets the panel mount to any standard camera tripod for unconventional setups.

Best for
- Competitive gamers on a mid-range GPU — 180Hz at 1440p hits a refresh rate that AMD and NVIDIA mid-range cards can sustain, and G-SYNC/FreeSync compatibility covers both camps.
- Laptop users who want a single-cable desk setup — USB Type-C with DP Alt Mode means one cable carries video from a compatible laptop to the display.
- Desk-space-conscious setups — the compact footprint, integrated phone holder on the stand, and tripod socket allow flexible placement without a large dedicated desk area.
- Colour-aware gamers and content viewers — DCI-P3 95% and sRGB 125% coverage, plus DisplayHDR 400 certification, deliver noticeably richer colour than a standard sRGB panel.
- Users who adjust their monitor position frequently — tilt, swivel, pivot, and 120mm height adjustment cover a full range of ergonomic positions.
Trade-offs
- High-frame-rate enthusiasts via HDMI — HDMI 2.0 caps out at 144Hz on this monitor; reaching 180Hz requires a DisplayPort 1.4 connection.
- Heavy laptop charging over USB-C — the Type-C port delivers only 7.5W of power delivery, which is not enough to charge most modern laptops under load.
- Users who need more than one downstream USB port — connectivity is limited to one Type-C, one DisplayPort, one HDMI, and one audio output; there is no USB hub built in.
- Those requiring full HDR with local dimming — DisplayHDR 400 does not require local dimming zones; buyers expecting cinema-grade HDR contrast should look at higher-tier HDR specifications.
