ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQL5A 27" QHD 210Hz IPS Monitor
The ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQL5A is a 27-inch QHD Fast IPS gaming monitor built for competitive and enthusiast players who need both sharp visuals and fluid motion. It combines an overclocked 210Hz refresh rate with a 0.3ms response time, simultaneous adaptive sync and motion blur reduction via ELMB Sync, and wide colour coverage for HDR content. Whether you're pushing high frame rates in fast-paced shooters or settling in for detailed, visually rich titles, it is designed to keep up without compromise.
Why this product
210Hz overclocked refresh rate
The panel reaches 210Hz via overclock through DisplayPort 1.4, reducing the time between frames and keeping fast-moving scenes sharper under competitive conditions.
0.3ms response time on Fast IPS
ASUS Fast IPS technology delivers a 0.3ms GTG minimum response time, avoiding the colour-accuracy trade-offs of TN panels while still matching their speed.
ELMB Sync: blur reduction and adaptive sync together
ELMB Sync allows the monitor to run both motion blur elimination and variable refresh rate simultaneously, addressing both ghosting and screen tearing at once.
Works with both AMD and NVIDIA adaptive sync
It carries both AMD FreeSync Premium certification and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible validation, so it pairs correctly with either GPU brand without requiring a specific card.
95% DCI-P3 colour with DisplayHDR 400
Wide colour gamut coverage at 95% DCI-P3 and 1073.7M colours (10-bit) ensure accurate, vivid colour reproduction, backed by VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification.
Full ergonomic stand with TÜV-certified eye care
Height, tilt, swivel and pivot adjustments let you position the screen correctly for long sessions, and TÜV Flicker-free and Low Blue Light certifications back up the comfort claims.

- Compatible with AMD GPUs via AMD FreeSync Premium for variable refresh rate support.
- Compatible with NVIDIA GPUs via G-SYNC Compatible validation — no G-SYNC module required.
- Connects to a wide range of sources via 1× DisplayPort 1.4 and 2× HDMI 2.0 ports.
- VESA 100×100mm mount pattern allows use with compatible third-party monitor arms and wall mounts.
- 210Hz maximum refresh rate is only achievable via DisplayPort 1.4; HDMI 2.0 ports top out at 144Hz according to the digital signal frequency specification.
- The USB Type-C port is a service port only, not a video input — video sources must connect via DisplayPort or HDMI.
Best for
- Competitive multiplayer players who prioritise refresh rate and response time and are running either an AMD or NVIDIA GPU.
- Players who want IPS colour accuracy without the motion-handling compromises of older IPS panels — Fast IPS gives both.
- Dual-GPU-brand households where the monitor may be shared between an AMD and an NVIDIA system, since both adaptive sync standards are supported.
- Long-session users who want TÜV-certified flicker-free and low blue light protection alongside ergonomic adjustment (height, tilt, swivel, pivot).
- HDR and wide-gamut content viewers who want 95% DCI-P3 coverage and DisplayHDR 400 certification for richer colour in supported titles.
Trade-offs
- Console players needing 4K output — the native resolution is QHD (2560×1440), not 4K UHD.
- Users expecting the full 210Hz over HDMI — HDMI 2.0 is limited to 144Hz on this monitor; a DisplayPort connection is required for 210Hz.
- Those needing a USB-C video input — the single USB Type-C port is a service port only and does not carry a display signal.
- Professional photo or print colour work requiring a higher HDR tier — the DisplayHDR 400 certification and 350 cd/㎡ typical brightness are suited to gaming rather than high-end HDR production.
