- Devices without Thunderbolt 4 or USB-C. It lacks legacy display inputs (VGA, DVI) or standard USB-B; it connects upstream only via Thunderbolt 4 or USB-C.
- Setups needing extensive USB-A bandwidth. The three downstream USB-A ports run at 10 Gbps each, but high-volume data transfer may be constrained compared to dedicated docks.
