Dell UltraSharp U3824DW 38" Curved Monitor - 3840x1600 IPS Black
The Dell UltraSharp U3824DW 38" Curved Monitor is built for professionals who need an expansive, colour-accurate workspace without sacrificing contrast or connectivity. As the world's first 37.5-inch WQHD+ display with IPS Black panel technology, it delivers a 2000:1 contrast ratio alongside wide colour coverage, making it well suited to designers, analysts and multi-PC power users. The 2300R curved screen and full ergonomic adjustability allow for long work sessions with reduced eye fatigue.
Why this product
IPS Black: deeper blacks, richer contrast
The IPS Black panel achieves a 2000:1 static contrast ratio — significantly deeper than conventional IPS panels — while retaining the wide, accurate colour reproduction IPS technology is known for.
Wide colour coverage for accurate work
It covers 100% sRGB, 100% Rec. 709, 98% DCI-P3 and 98% Display P3 with an average Delta E of less than 2, giving colour-critical work a reliable, calibrated foundation.
USB-C with 90W power delivery
A single USB-C cable connects a compatible laptop to the display, transfers data at USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds and delivers up to 90W of charging power simultaneously, reducing desk clutter.
Built-in KVM for two-PC control
Auto KVM lets a single keyboard, mouse and monitor control two connected PCs, with quick switching via the on-screen menu or hot keys — no separate KVM switch required.
2.5GbE Ethernet built in
The integrated RJ45 port provides 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity through the monitor hub, so a laptop connected by USB-C gains a fast wired network connection without a separate adapter.
Sustainable materials, strong warranty
The enclosure uses 85% post-consumer recyclable plastic and 90% recycled aluminium. It is EPEAT Gold registered, TCO Certified Edge and EnergyStar certified, and backed by a 3-Year Advanced Exchange Service and Premium Panel Exchange warranty.

- 2.5GbE Ethernet is accessible as a hub feature through the USB-C upstream connection; availability over other inputs may depend on host configuration.
Best for
- Designers and photographers who need factory-calibrated colour accuracy across sRGB, Rec. 709 and DCI-P3 colour spaces with Delta E less than 2.
- Multi-PC users who want to control two computers with a single keyboard, mouse and display using the built-in Auto KVM without extra hardware.
- Laptop users who want to reduce cables — one USB-C connection handles video, USB hub, 2.5GbE Ethernet and up to 90W laptop charging.
- Long-session workers who benefit from the 2300R curve, 178°/178° viewing angles and a fully adjustable ergonomic stand with height, tilt and swivel.
- Sustainability-focused buyers who require EPEAT Gold, EnergyStar and TCO Certified Edge compliance alongside recycled-content construction.
Trade-offs
- Competitive gamers: the panel is specified at 60 Hz with a 5 ms fast-mode response time, which is below the refresh rates typically sought for fast-paced gaming.
- Space-constrained desks: the monitor is 89.4 cm wide and weighs 13.27 kg with the stand, requiring a substantial and sturdy surface.
- Buyers needing HDR certification: no HDR rating or certification is listed in the verified specifications for this display.
- Users requiring a 16:9 aspect ratio: the 21:9 format and 3840×1600 resolution may not suit workflows or applications optimised for standard widescreen ratios.
