Fractal Design North XL Full Tower Case - Black, Tempered Glass
The Fractal Design North XL Full Tower Case combines Nordic design with practical airflow engineering, fusing natural materials and open ventilation to make a high-performance PC blend into living spaces rather than dominate them. It suits builders who want a full-size case with sophisticated aesthetics and the flexibility to support modern high-end components, from E-ATX motherboards to large GPUs and liquid cooling systems. The spacious interior and intuitive layout reduce build frustration while the included fans and comprehensive cooling support keep temperatures in check.
Why this product
Natural materials meet airflow design
FSC-certified walnut front panels and an open mesh design create a case that looks like furniture. The aesthetic doesn't compromise cooling—the open front and strategic ventilation keep air flowing without visible plastic vents.
Supports full E-ATX and large GPUs
Accommodates the widest motherboards and graphics cards up to 413 mm long (or 380 mm with a front radiator installed). Seven expansion slots handle modern multi-GPU and NVMe configurations.
Extensive liquid cooling support
Mounts up to 420 mm radiators in front, 360 mm on top, and includes a dedicated rear slot. This flexibility suits air or liquid cooling equally well.
Three included 140 mm fans plus easy upgrades
Ships with three Aspect PWM fans for the front. The case can accommodate up to seven 120 mm or six 140 mm fans total across front, top, and rear positions.
Front panel opens without tools
Unclip the front, slide the side panels, and use the integrated tab to remove the top—no screwdriver needed for component access or cleaning.
Two-year warranty backed by Fractal Design support
All components covered for two years with dedicated customer support. Fractal Design stands behind the case through the full warranty period.

Best for
- High-end gaming builds needing space for large components
- Liquid cooling enthusiasts with room for multiple radiators
- Builders who want a case that looks intentional in a living room or studio setup
- Multi-GPU or heavily expanded systems using full E-ATX boards
- Users prioritizing quiet operation through design-led airflow
Trade-offs
- Compact or small-form-factor builds—this is a full-size tower with a large footprint.
- Builds using standard ITX or mATX boards if component count and cable routing capacity are low on the priority list.
- Passive cooling setups—the design favors active ventilation and assumes fans will be added.
- Builders on very tight budgets—the natural materials and design premium add cost compared to plastic-only cases.
