HP 727pu Series 7 Pro 27" QHD Thunderbolt 4 Monitor
The HP 727pu Series 7 Pro 27" QHD Thunderbolt 4 Monitor is designed for creative professionals and power users who need accurate, calibrated colour and versatile connectivity on a single desk display. It combines a factory-calibrated DreamColor-class IPS Black panel with a full-featured Thunderbolt 4 port that carries video, data, and up to 100W of device charging over one cable. Verified for use with both Mac and PC, it suits anyone who switches between operating systems or multiple computers throughout the day.
Why this product
Factory-calibrated colour accuracy out of the box
The display ships Pantone-validated and covers 98% Display P3 and 100% sRGB, so colour-critical work is trustworthy from the moment it is switched on.
IPS Black with 2,000:1 contrast ratio
IPS Black technology delivers twice the contrast of a traditional IPS panel, producing deeper shadows and brighter highlights without sacrificing the wide 178°/178° viewing angles IPS is known for.
Single-cable Thunderbolt 4 connection
One Thunderbolt 4 cable handles high-resolution video, 10 Gbps data, and up to 100W charging simultaneously, removing the need for separate power and display cables.
Smart KVM and Picture-by-Picture multitasking
The built-in Smart KVM switch detects and switches between two computers using one keyboard and mouse, while Picture-by-Picture lets both sources appear on screen at the same time.
120 Hz refresh rate with AMD FreeSync Premium
A 120 Hz panel paired with AMD FreeSync Premium reduces screen tear and judder, keeping motion smooth whether scrolling through documents or watching video.
3-year warranty with Zero Bright Dot Guarantee
HP covers this monitor for three years and includes the Zero Bright Dot Guarantee, which addresses stuck bright pixels — a meaningful assurance on a colour-critical display.

Best for
- Creative and design professionals who need factory-calibrated, Pantone-validated colour accuracy for photo editing, video grading, or print work.
- Users with a single Thunderbolt 4 or USB-C laptop who want to consolidate power, video, and peripherals into one cable connection at their desk.
- Dual-computer setups — the Smart KVM and Picture-by-Picture features are purpose-built for switching between two machines without extra hardware.
- All-day desk workers who benefit from the ambient light sensor, HP Eye Ease low-blue-light filter, and four-way ergonomic adjustability.
- Environmentally conscious buyers — the enclosure uses 90% recycled plastic and the product carries EPEAT Silver and ENERGY STAR certifications.
Trade-offs
- Competitive gaming at the highest refresh rates — at 120 Hz and 5 ms response time, this display prioritises colour accuracy over the fastest possible motion performance.
- HDR enthusiasts expecting full local dimming — VESA DisplayHDR 400 does not require local dimming zones, so peak HDR brightness and black levels are more modest than DisplayHDR 1000 or OLED alternatives.
- Buyers needing a 4K panel — the native resolution is QHD (2560 × 1440), not 4K UHD.
- Laptop users without Thunderbolt 4 or DisplayPort — HDMI is available at version 2.0, but buyers connecting over HDMI will not have access to the single-cable power-and-data feature.
