Maiwo K3568A USB 3.0 3.5" SATA HDD Enclosure + Power Adapter
The Maiwo K3568A USB 3.0 3.5" SATA HDD Enclosure is a screwless desktop hard drive enclosure designed for anyone who needs to access, back up or repurpose a bare 3.5-inch SATA hard drive without opening a PC. It connects over USB 3.0 and ships with a power adapter, making it a straightforward plug-and-play solution for home users and IT workers alike.
Why this product
Screwless tool-free installation
The enclosure uses a screwless design so you can slide a drive in and secure it without any tools. A sponge pad is included to accommodate drives of varying thickness.
USB 3.0 with backward compatibility
It connects to your computer over USB 3.0 and is also compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports, so it works across a wide range of older and newer machines.
Broad operating system support
It works with Windows Me and later, Mac OS 8.6/9 and later, and Linux kernel 2.4 and later, covering the vast majority of desktop and laptop systems still in use.
Colour LED status indicator
A colour LED on the enclosure lets you see at a glance whether the drive is powered and active, reducing guesswork when transferring files.
Power adapter included
A 12 V / 2 A power adapter is bundled in the box, so no separate purchase is needed to get a 3.5-inch drive running straight away.

- Connects to any USB 3.0 port, and also works with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 hosts.
- Compatible with Windows Me and above, Mac OS 8.6/9 and above, and Linux kernel 2.4 and above.
- The internal connection is SATA III; confirm your drive uses a SATA interface before purchasing — IDE/PATA drives are not supported.
- Not designed for 2.5-inch laptop drives; the stated supported form factor is 3.5 inch.
Best for
- Repurposing old desktop drives — anyone with a spare 3.5-inch SATA HDD can turn it into external storage without opening a computer.
- Plug-and-play simplicity — no driver installation or screwdriver required, making it accessible for less technical users.
- Cross-platform use — broad OS support means it suits households or small offices running a mix of Windows, Mac and Linux machines.
- Budget-conscious data recovery — a low-friction way to read a drive pulled from a retired desktop PC.
Trade-offs
- 2.5-inch or laptop drives — the enclosure is sized and specified for 3.5-inch drives only.
- NVMe or M.2 SSDs — the interface is SATA only; NVMe drives use a different connector and protocol.
- USB 3.0-speed demanding workloads on very old ports — USB 1.1 and 2.0 compatibility is present but those connections cap throughput well below what USB 3.0 can deliver.
- Easy Screwless installation (To ensure the differing Harddrive thicknesses are secured please apply the sponge pad provided to the lid)
- 3.5″ external HDD enclosure USB3.0 to SATA
- Supported Windows Me and above, Mac OS8.6/9 and above, Linux kernel 2.4 and above
- Colour LED indicator
- Plug & Play
- Downgrade compatible with USB1.1 and USB 2.0
