TP-Link Omada DR3650v AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 VDSL Gateway Router
The TP-Link Omada DR3650v is an AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 gateway router designed for small business and branch offices that need reliable internet failover and centralized management. It combines VDSL2, Ethernet, and 4G/3G USB modem connectivity with cloud-based network management, letting you use any of these as your primary link or automatic backup.
Why this product
Multi-WAN with automatic failover
Supports DSL, Gigabit Ethernet, and 4G/3G USB modems simultaneously. Load balancing and failover mean your branch stays online even if one connection drops.
VDSL2 Profile 35b up to 350 Mbps
Supports the fastest DSL standard (VDSL2 35b) alongside backward-compatible ADSL2+ and ADSL. Also works with older DSL lines where those exist.
AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 with 802.11ax
2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. Full Wi-Fi 6 features including OFDMA and 160 MHz bandwidth on 5 GHz (where regulatory rules allow).
Centralized cloud management via Omada
Manage this router alongside switches and access points from a single cloud dashboard. Essentials version is free; standard licence adds advanced features.
VPN tunnels for secure branching
Built-in IPSec, OpenVPN, WireGuard, L2TP, PPTP, GRE and SSL VPN to connect branch offices securely or enable remote work from home.

- Can be mounted on a desktop, wall, or in a rack (rackmount kit D226 sold separately).
- Wi-Fi 6 features (OFDMA, HE160, 1024-QAM, 160 MHz bandwidth) require compatible client devices. 160 MHz on 5 GHz may be unavailable in some countries due to regulatory restrictions.
Best for
- Small offices and branch locations that need automatic failover between DSL, Ethernet and 4G.
- Networks managed across multiple sites using TP-Link Omada SDN for centralised visibility and control.
- Teams running remote work or branch-to-branch VPN tunnels with built-in encryption support.
- Locations with legacy DSL infrastructure that still need modern Wi-Fi 6 and fast Ethernet ports.
Trade-offs
- Environments where Wi-Fi 6 client support is unavailable — older devices cannot use OFDMA, HE160, or 160 MHz bandwidth.
- Setups that do not need voice services — the router includes 2 FXS ports for phone lines, a feature not all customers require.
- Deployments without access to DSL, Ethernet WAN or 4G/3G — it is designed around multi-WAN failover, not single-connection use.
DR3650v is compatible with Super VDSL (VDSL2 Profile 35b), Ethernet access, and 4G/3G USB modems. Its Gigabit LAN/WAN port accepts connections from cable or fiber modems, and the USB 3.0 port supports 4G/3G dongles for a solid main or backup internet connection.
Centralized cloud management for Omada gateways, switches, and access points across multiple sites, with the Omada cloud-based controller offering the Essentials version of cloud services for free, reducing maintaince costs.
IPSec/PPTP/L2TP/GRE/WireGuard/Open VPN/SSL VPN easily builds secure VPN tunnels for secure Internet browsing, communication between different branches, or enabling remote work or study from home.
*1 Maximum wireless signal rates are the physical rates derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specifications.
*4 Use of WiFi 6 (802.11ax) and its features, including OFDMA, HE160, and 1024-QAM, require clients to support the corresponding features. The 160 MHz bandwidth is only available on the 5 GHz band. It may be unavailable in some regions/countries due to regulatory restrictions.
*5 Supported only in Standalone Mode.
*6 Supported only in Controller Mode.
*7 The Omada cloud-based controller offers the Essentials version of cloud services for free, while the Standard version, which includes advenced features, requires a license.
