TP-Link Tapo C610 KIT Solar Pan/Tilt Camera - 2K 3MP
The TP-Link Tapo C610 KIT Solar Pan/Tilt Camera is a wire-free outdoor security camera designed for homeowners who want reliable coverage without running cables or swapping batteries. Powered by an included solar panel, it covers a full 360° horizontally and 130° vertically with smart AI person detection and motion tracking. It suits anyone who needs flexible placement — on a fence, eave or wall — far from a power outlet.
Why this product
Solar-powered, no battery swaps needed
The included Tapo A201 solar panel with monocrystalline silicon cells keeps the 6700 mAh battery topped up — just 45 minutes of direct sunlight powers the camera for a full day, and the battery alone lasts up to 200 days without any sunlight.
Full 360° pan and 130° tilt coverage
A 340° mechanical pan range delivers full 360° coverage, while a 90° tilt range covers 130° vertically, so a single camera can monitor a wide area without blind spots.
2K 3MP resolution day and night
At 2304×1296 px, the camera captures fine detail across a 100.6° diagonal field of view, with advanced algorithms maintaining correct exposure in both bright and low-light conditions.
Full-colour night vision via built-in spotlights
Unlike cameras that switch to black-and-white at night, this one uses built-in spotlights alongside dual 850 nm IR LEDs to deliver colour footage up to 33 ft (10 m) in the dark.
Smart AI person detection reduces false alerts
The camera distinguishes people from other movement, so notifications arrive only when a person is detected rather than every time a leaf blows past.
Flexible storage up to 512 GB locally
A microSD card slot accepts cards up to 512 GB for on-device recording, or footage can be stored remotely via the Tapo Care cloud service with a subscription.

Best for
- Outlet-free locations: the solar panel and 6700 mAh battery mean it can be installed on fences, sheds or walls where running a cable is impractical.
- Wide-area monitoring: the 360° pan and 130° tilt with AI motion tracking let a single camera cover a yard, driveway or entry that multiple fixed cameras might otherwise require.
- Colour night-time surveillance: the built-in spotlights produce full-colour footage after dark rather than the greyscale images typical of IR-only cameras.
- Low-maintenance setups: with solar charging, there are no periodic battery swaps, and the IP65 rating means it withstands outdoor weather without special sheltering.
- Voice-assistant households: native support for both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant means it slots into an existing smart-home routine.
Trade-offs
- Wired or PoE installations: it connects only via Wi-Fi and has no Ethernet or Power-over-Ethernet option, so it cannot join a wired NVR system.
- Locations with very limited direct sunlight: the solar panel requires direct sunlight to keep the battery charged; in heavily shaded spots the camera relies entirely on the battery, which has a finite capacity.
- Buyers who need local storage out of the box: a microSD card is not included, so local recording requires an additional purchase, and cloud recording requires a paid Tapo Care subscription.
- Long-range night detection beyond 33 ft: the IR night vision range is rated to 33 ft (10 m), so subjects further away will not be clearly illuminated in low-light conditions.
Uninterrupted Power Supply: Enjoy a maintenance-free security experience with the Tapo Solar Panel, which provides a continuous power supply and flexible installation.
Wire-Free, Installs Almost Anywhere: Eliminates the need for outlets and enables flexible placement. Add security to your home, wherever, whenever.
Pan and Tilt: Enjoy a full 360º horizontal and 130º vertical, allowing you to cover more area.
Smart Person Detection: Get alerts when a person is detected, reducing false alerts and unnecessary notifications.
360° Motion Tracking: The camera delivers full 360° coverage with smart AI that accurately detects and tracks motion.
Vivid Colors, Even at Night: Instead of black-and-white images, C610 KIT offers full-color images at night with built-in spotlights, ensuring details in low-light conditions.
Superior 2K 3MP Visuals: Capture every detail in crystal-clear 2K resolution, with advanced algorithms ensuring perfect exposure day and night.
Flexible Storage Options: Choose from local microSD storage up to 512GB or the secure Tapo Care cloud service for additional peace of mind.
IP65 Weather Resistance: Offers excellent waterproof and dustproof performance for outdoor scenarios.
Capture the perfect shot while not being limited to power outlet location. Install the solar panel with the included extension cable for optimal sunlight exposure, or mount the camera on the kit base for easy setup. Just set it up once, no battery swaps or nearby outlets needed.
