TP-Link TL-WPA4220 KIT AV600 Powerline Wi-Fi Booster 2 LAN
The TP-Link TL-WPA4220 KIT AV600 Powerline Wi-Fi Booster extends internet using your home's electrical wiring, eliminating the need for additional cables or access point placement. It brings both wired and wireless connectivity to rooms far from your router through any powered outlet.
Why this product
Powerline transmission over existing wiring
Uses HomePlug AV2 technology to send data at up to 600 Mbps through your home's electrical circuits, covering distances to 300 meters without new infrastructure.
Combined wired and wireless coverage
The main unit supplies 2 Ethernet ports for direct device connection and broadcasts a 300 Mbps wireless signal; the secondary adapter adds 1 Ethernet port at any distant outlet.
One-touch Wi-Fi cloning
Press the Wi-Fi Clone button to automatically copy your router's network name and password to the extenders, then manage both units from a single app or desktop utility.
Simple plug-and-play setup
No drilling or rewiring required. Insert both adapters into power outlets, press Pair once, and the network is ready in minutes.

- Works with all HomePlug AV and AV2 standard powerline adapters already installed in your home.
- Pairs with PCs, gaming consoles, set-top boxes and other devices via either Ethernet port or Wi-Fi.
- May not be compatible with routers or gateways running altered, open-source, or outdated firmware.
- Does not overcome electrical wiring faults, breaker isolation, or surge protection that blocks powerline signals.
Best for
- Homes where Wi-Fi does not reach bedrooms, basements or distant offices
- Online gaming and HD video streaming requiring stable, low-latency links without wireless interference
- Users who want wired connections for specific devices without running new network cables
- Multi-story or large homes where router placement cannot serve all areas equally
Trade-offs
- Very high-speed internet (gigabit): Ethernet ports are limited to 10/100 Mbps, so speeds above 100 Mbps will be throttled when using the wired ports.
- Homes with poor electrical wiring: Damaged, old, or heavily loaded circuits degrade powerline signal quality and range.
- Renters unable to test circuit stability: Powerline performance depends entirely on your building's wiring condition, which you cannot inspect beforehand.
- Devices needing faster wireless: The 300 Mbps Wi-Fi speed is adequate for HD streaming but slower than modern dual-band routers and wi-fi 5 or 6 access points.
Based on the Powerline technology, your network extension is never limited to the primary coverage of your router. With advanced HomePlug AV600, the TL-WPA4220 KIT transforms your home's existing electrical circuit into a high-speed network with no need for new wires or drilling and brings wired and wireless network to anywhere there is a power outlet.
Using advanced HomePlug AV2 technology, TL-WPA4220 KIT provides stable and high-speed data transmissions of up to 600 Mbps* for ranges up to 300 meters where there is a power outlet. No interference on electrical or electronic equipment. Stream in HD, game online and download large files without interruption thanks to reliable powerline links.
Ditch the complicated setup process for good. The tpPLC Utility and tpPLC app make it easy to control wireless network settings, set schedules for Wi-Fi availability and even control the LED indicators on your adapters from any iOS or Android device. You can download the tpPLC app for iOS and Android devices. You can download the intuitive new tpPLC Utility for your PC at www.tp-link.com/support/download.
*Listed HomePlug AV2 speed refers to the theoretical maximum physical-layer data transfer rate. Actual data speeds vary and are limited by the product's Ethernet port and other network conditions such as data traffic, electrical noise, and wiring issues.
*2. Compatible with all HomePlug AV and AV2 Standard Powerline adapters. This product may not be compatible with routers or gateways with firmware that has been altered, is based on open source programs, or are non-standard or outdated.
*3. Maximum wireless signal rates are the physical rates derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specifications.
