The Ubiquiti UniFi Switch Lite 8 PoE is a compact 8-port Layer 2 switch with four PoE+ ports designed for small UniFi deployments. It runs fanless and silent, drawing minimal power while delivering up to 52W of PoE output for access points and other networked devices. Managed through the UniFi Network Controller app, it suits installers and small offices building out wired networks without noise or complexity.

- Works with any UniFi Access Point or 802.3at PoE device. Accepts standard RJ45 Ethernet cables and accessories.
- Fully managed by UniFi Network Controller (self-hosted or hosted). Requires a Controller instance to configure and monitor.
- UK power plug only. Requires an external 60W power adapter (included); does not include AC inlet.
- Not a Layer 3 (routing) switch. No IP routing, OSPF, BGP or static routing capabilities.
- No 10 Gigabit ports. Maximum port speed is 1 Gigabit Ethernet.
Best for
- Small office or retail networks running UniFi APs and a handful of wired devices.
- Silent installations in meeting rooms, libraries or quiet work spaces where fan noise is unacceptable.
- Wall-mounted or under-desk deployments where space and appearance matter.
- Budget-conscious site builds that need PoE distribution without large managed switch cost.
Trade-offs
- Large deployments. Eight ports is a hard limit; no stacking or modular expansion.
- Inter-VLAN routing or complex firewall rules. Layer 2 only; no IP routing or stateful filtering.
- High-throughput wired clients. Non-blocking throughput is 8 Gbps across all ports, not per port.
- Power-hungry devices. Total PoE budget of 52W limits the number and type of devices you can connect simultaneously.

The USW-Lite-8-PoE is a fully managed Layer 2 switch with eight Gigabit Ethernet ports for your RJ45 Ethernet devices. Four ports also offer auto-sensing 802.3at PoE+ that provide up to a total PoE wattage of 52W for UniFi Access Points or other PoE devices. Managed and configured by the UniFi Network Controller with UniFi mobile app support, the USW-Lite-8-PoE offers Layer 2 switching protocols and features. The UniFi Network Controller and mobile app allow admins to configure and monitor virtually all of the switch features in a graphical user interface from anywhere.
