Acer Chromebook 314 CBOA314-1H - N4500 4GB 64GB 14" FHD
The Acer Chromebook 314 CBOA314-1H is a lightweight 14-inch Chromebook built for students and everyday users who need a reliable machine for web browsing, cloud-based work, and video calls without carrying extra weight. Running ChromeOS on an Intel Celeron processor, it handles Google Workspace apps, streaming, and light multitasking in a 1.5 kg chassis that is easy to carry between home, classroom, or office.
Why this product
14" Full HD matte display
The 1920 x 1080 ComfyView TN panel reduces glare in bright environments, making it easier to work near windows or under overhead lighting.
Up to 10.5 hours battery life
A 50 Wh three-cell lithium-ion battery supports a full working or school day without needing to locate a power socket.
H1 discrete TPM security chip
A dedicated H1 Trusted Platform Module provides hardware-level security for ChromeOS, keeping user data and credentials protected.
LPDDR4X low-power memory
2133 MHz LPDDR4X RAM delivers faster data transfer than standard DDR4 while drawing less power, contributing to longer battery runtime.
Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity
IEEE 802.11ac wireless and Bluetooth 5.0 keep it connected to modern routers and peripherals without a network cable.
microSD card slot for extra storage
The built-in microSD reader lets users expand available storage beyond the 64 GB eMMC for photos, documents, or offline content.

- System memory is fixed at 4 GB in this configuration; the maximum supported is 8 GB but upgrading is not a user-serviceable option on this model.
- No RJ-45 Ethernet port — wired network connections require a USB-C or USB-A adapter (sold separately).
- Not compatible with Windows or macOS software; only ChromeOS and Android (Play Store) applications run natively.
Best for
- Students and school use: ChromeOS, Google Classroom compatibility, and a 1.5 kg body suit daily commutes between home and school.
- Cloud-first workers: Built around Google Workspace apps and browser-based tools, it handles documents, spreadsheets, and video calls without local software installations.
- All-day portable use: With up to 10.5 hours of battery life and a 45 W charger, it covers a full working day away from a desk.
- Security-conscious buyers: The discrete H1 TPM chip provides hardware-level protection for ChromeOS credentials and encrypted data.
Trade-offs
- Windows or macOS users: This device runs ChromeOS only; Windows applications and macOS-exclusive software do not run on it.
- Heavy local storage needs: 64 GB eMMC is the only internal storage; users who store large video libraries or large application suites locally will find it limiting.
- Demanding processing tasks: The dual-core Intel Celeron N4500 at 1.10 GHz is not designed for video editing, 3D rendering, or processor-intensive software.
- Touch-screen workflows: The display is not a touchscreen, so touch-first apps and stylus-based input are not supported.
- Wired network environments: There is no RJ-45 port, so offices or schools requiring a physical Ethernet connection need an additional adapter.
