Acer Chromebook Plus Enterprise Spin 714 CPE794-1N 16GB/512GB
The Acer Chromebook Plus Enterprise Spin 714 CPE794-1N 16GB/512GB is a 2-in-1 convertible Chromebook aimed at professionals who need a portable, durable machine for in-office and remote work. Built on Intel Core Ultra 7 and running ChromeOS, it suits knowledge workers and enterprise users who move between desk and field without wanting to carry a heavy laptop. The 360-degree flip design, built-in stylus, and MIL-STD 810H-tested chassis make it practical for varied working environments.
Why this product
MIL-STD 810H tested for daily durability
It meets MIL-STD 810H standards for resistance to everyday wear and tear, so it is designed to handle the knocks of commuting and field use.
360° flip with built-in stylus storage
The fold-back convertible hinge lets it switch between laptop, tent, and tablet modes, and a dedicated slot keeps the stylus always at hand.
1440p QHD webcam with HDR and AI tools
The webcam captures at 1440p with HDR, and built-in AI-powered tools adjust clarity and lighting automatically during video calls.
Thunderbolt 4 at up to 40 Gbps
One Thunderbolt 4 port delivers up to 40 Gbps throughput, supporting fast external storage, dual displays, and USB-C charging from a single cable.
PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD storage
The M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD offers read and write speeds up to 7 GB/s, which the manufacturer states is 5× faster than SATA SSDs.
Fingerprint reader and Google H1 security chip
Hardware-level security includes a fingerprint reader, a Google H1 security chip, and TPM to protect against unauthorised access.

- Charges via USB-C using the included 65 W adapter; also accepts USB-C charging from the Thunderbolt 4 port.
- Connects to Wi-Fi 6E networks on 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands, and to Bluetooth 5.2 accessories.
- HDMI output and Thunderbolt 4 allow connection to external displays or monitors.
- RAM is soldered at 16 GB and cannot be upgraded after purchase; storage is fixed at 512 GB and is not user-replaceable.
- Does not run Windows or macOS software natively — only ChromeOS applications, Android apps, and Linux (if enabled on the device).
Best for
- Enterprise and knowledge workers who need a managed ChromeOS device with built-in security (H1 chip, TPM, fingerprint reader) for remote or hybrid work.
- Workers who travel frequently — at 1.46 kg and 18.1 mm thin with a MIL-STD 810H-tested aluminum chassis, it is built for portability and daily knocks.
- Video-call-heavy roles where the 1440p QHD HDR webcam and AI-powered call tools make a consistent difference to how the user appears on screen.
- Users who annotate documents or sketches and value having a stylus always stored in the device rather than carried separately.
- Teams with demanding external storage or display needs who benefit from Thunderbolt 4's 40 Gbps throughput and versatile device connections.
Trade-offs
- Windows or macOS software users — ChromeOS does not run native Windows or macOS applications, which rules it out for software tied to those platforms.
- Users who need more than 16 GB RAM — memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded, so workloads requiring greater capacity are not supported.
- Users who need expandable storage beyond 512 GB — there is no SD card slot listed in the specifications, and internal storage is not user-upgradeable.
- Buyers on a tight budget — this is an enterprise-tier device with enterprise-tier pricing, positioned above consumer Chromebook options.
