Acer PD1520Us Ultra-Short Throw 1080p DLP Projector 500 ANSI Lm
The Acer PD1520Us is an ultra-short throw DLP projector designed for living rooms, bedrooms and small spaces where traditional projectors won't fit. It produces images up to 100 inches from just 17 centimetres away, combining compact size with full HD clarity and bright LED output.
Why this product
Projects from 17cm away
Ultra-short throw ratio of 0.26 lets you place it on a shelf or table inches from the wall, eliminating the need for ceiling mounting or long cable runs.
500 ANSI lumens brightness
LED light source delivers 500 lumens in standard mode, staying bright enough for daytime use in well-lit rooms without darkening the entire space.
Built-in Android and wireless casting
Android 9.0 OS, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.0 support Miracast and AirPlay, so you stream from phones and tablets without an external device.
Full HD native, 4K compatible
1920×1080 native resolution handles 1080p sources perfectly; maximum 3840×2160 means it can scale 4K input without dedicated upscaling hardware.
Auto keystone and focus
Four-corner manual and automatic keystone correction (±10° horizontal, ±5° vertical) plus auto focus simplify setup on angled or uneven surfaces.
20,000-hour LED lifespan
LED light source runs 20,000 hours in standard mode or 30,000 in eco mode—no lamp replacements for years of use.

- Works with any HDMI source: Blu-ray players, streaming boxes, gaming consoles, PCs and laptops via the single HDMI 2.0 input.
- Casts wirelessly from iPhones, iPads and Android phones via AirPlay and Miracast without needing an HDMI cable.
- Connects to external speakers and soundbars via 3.5mm audio jack or Bluetooth 5.0 to bypass the built-in 3W speaker.
- Projects at maximum brightness (500 lumens) only on white or light-coloured screens; darker surfaces absorb light and reduce perceived brightness.
- Ultra-short throw design works best when the projector sits directly below or very close to the screen; placement more than 40cm away reduces the throw distance advantage.
Best for
- Small rooms and apartments where ceiling mounting or long projector placement isn't possible
- Living rooms that need daytime-capable projection with 500 lumens of LED brightness
- Users who want wireless casting from phones and tablets built in, without external streaming devices
- Anyone seeking a 20,000-hour LED light source to avoid lamp replacements for many years
- Homes where a 100-inch image from a 17cm distance solves awkward room layouts
Trade-offs
- Dedicated home theatres in darkened rooms. At 500 lumens it is outmatched by traditional 3,000+ lumen lamp projectors designed for cinema-quality black-level contrast.
- Large venue projection. Maximum 100-inch image size and modest brightness limit it to personal or small family use; auditoriums and conference halls need higher-lumen models.
- 4K-native content viewing. While it accepts 4K input, the 1920×1080 native resolution means 4K sources are downscaled, not displayed at their native detail.
- Fixed ceiling mounting. Its compact design and ultra-short throw are wasted if mounted far from the screen; it's optimised for shelf or table placement.
- Extended unattended use on battery. 70W power draw in standard mode and lack of built-in battery require direct mains supply; no cordless outdoor projection.
Bring entertainment to any space with this ultra-short throw projector. Enjoy 2,000 LED lumens of bright visuals, crisp FHD resolution, a compact design, and the ability to transform any surface into a display.
