ASUS Chromebook CX14 Intel N50 4GB 64GB Fabric Blue
The ASUS Chromebook CX14 is a straightforward 14-inch laptop for anyone who wants a device for browsing, streaming, email and Google apps without paying for features they won't use. It runs Chrome OS, has an Intel N50 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, and is built to withstand daily school or office use.
Why this product
14-inch FHD screen, 86% screen-to-body ratio
1920 × 1080 anti-glare display with 250 nits brightness and minimal bezels, making it practical for work and media without taking up much desk space.
Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4
Fast wireless connectivity with dual-band support ensures smooth video calls and downloads even in crowded networks.
Spill-resistant keyboard
Chiclet keys with 1.35mm travel and water-resistant design protect against accidental spills common in shared workspaces.
Privacy shutter on camera
Built-in physical shutter on the 720p HD camera lets you block the lens when you're not using it.
Military-grade durability
Meets US MIL-STD 810H standards, meaning it's tested to survive drops, vibration and temperature extremes.

- Runs Google Chrome OS out of the box—no Windows or macOS, so it integrates tightly with Google Workspace, Gmail, Google Drive and Google Classroom.
- Works with any Wi-Fi 6 or older Wi-Fi network; Bluetooth 5.4 connects to wireless mice, headphones and speakers.
- Storage is fixed at 64GB eMMC with no upgrade path, and cannot be expanded with external cards—budget accordingly for apps and offline media.
- Will not run Windows software, Mac applications or native Linux programs; all work happens through the Chrome browser or Chrome app ecosystem.
Best for
- Students and educators who live in Google Classroom and Workspace
- Home users and small-office workers focused on email, browsing and video calls
- Anyone who values simplicity and security over customisation
- Organisations in education or non-profits with Chrome OS fleet management
Trade-offs
- Photo and video editing. The Intel N50 processor and 4GB RAM cannot handle Photoshop, Premiere, or heavy media software.
- Programming and development. 4GB RAM is too tight for modern IDEs, Docker containers and build tools; Windows or macOS machines are better suited.
- Gaming. Intel UHD Graphics and a dual-core processor do not support modern games or even older titles at playable frame rates.
- Offline work. 64GB of fixed eMMC storage leaves little room for large media libraries or software; constant internet access is expected.
- Windows software. Chrome OS cannot run .exe applications, AutoCAD, Quicken or any desktop Windows program.
If you're after a Chromebook that covers the basics without overcomplicating things, the ASUS CX14 is a solid pick. It has an Intel Processor N50 with 4GB RAM and 64GB eMMC storage, enough for browsing, streaming, emails and Google apps.
