ASUS DRW-24D5MT 24x DVD-RW Internal Optical Drive OEM
The ASUS DRW-24D5MT 24x DVD-RW Internal Optical Drive OEM is a SATA internal DVD writer suited to home users and small offices who need a reliable way to burn, back up and archive optical media. Its E-Green technology reduces power draw when the drive is idle, and M-DISC support means critical data can be written to discs rated for up to 1,000 years of storage. This is the OEM bulk packaging version, supplied without bundled software.
Why this product
M-DISC archival storage up to 1,000 years
It supports M-DISC recording, which is designed to preserve photos, video and data for up to 1,000 years — useful for anyone who wants a physical, long-term backup beyond standard optical media.
E-Green cuts idle power by over 50%
E-Green automatically closes the drive application when it is not in use, cutting power consumption by more than 50% compared to leaving it running.
24X DVD and 48X CD write speeds
It writes DVD+R and DVD-R at up to 24X and CD-R at up to 48X, keeping burn times short for standard disc jobs.
Broad disc format support
It reads and writes DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, DVD+R DL, DVD-R DL, DVD-RAM, CD-R and CD-RW, covering the full range of formats still in common use.
SATA interface for straightforward installation
The SATA connection is standard on modern desktop motherboards, so fitting this drive requires no adapter or additional hardware in a typical desktop build.
