ASUS PCE-AXE5400 WiFi 6E Tri-Band PCIe Adapter - BT 5.2
The ASUS PCE-AXE5400 WiFi 6E Tri-Band PCIe Adapter is a desktop WiFi card that lets you connect to the uncrowded 6 GHz band and access speeds up to 4.6 times faster than WiFi 5. It suits desktop builders and gamers who need low-latency wireless performance without competing for bandwidth with older devices.
Why this product
6 GHz band eliminates congestion
This adapter connects to the dedicated 6 GHz band on WiFi 6E routers, meaning it won't share bandwidth with WiFi 5 or earlier devices on the same network. Seven extra 160 MHz channels provide more room to breathe.
OFDMA and MU-MIMO for lower latency
Instead of waiting its turn, your PC's data transmits simultaneously with other devices. Network efficiency improves and latency drops, especially useful for gaming and video calls.
WPA3 security standard
It uses the latest WiFi security protocol, protecting your PC from external wireless attacks.
Dual external antennas
Adjustable antennas let you position them for better signal reception and reduce dead zones in your room.

- Fits any desktop PC with a PCI-Express x1 slot.
- Works with Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11 64-bit.
- 6 GHz band support requires a WiFi 6E router; older routers will still work but only on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.
- Windows 10 supports only 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands; 6 GHz requires Windows 11.
- Not compatible with Mac or Linux.
Best for
- Gaming and low-latency applications where you want to avoid congestion on shared networks.
- Heavy multimedia tasks and streaming that benefit from the extra bandwidth of 6 GHz and 160 MHz channels.
- Homes with many WiFi devices, where the 6 GHz band gives you a cleaner connection away from interference.
- Desktop users upgrading from older WiFi adapters who want current security standards and backward compatibility.
Trade-offs
- Laptops and portable devices. This is a PCI-Express card designed for desktop towers and does not fit portable computers.
- Routers without WiFi 6E support. You'll be limited to WiFi 6 or earlier speeds and will not reach the adapter's full capability.
- Systems running Windows 10. The 6 GHz band is not supported on Windows 10; only Windows 11 64-bit unlocks full WiFi 6E functionality.
- Users who need Bluetooth for many simultaneous connections. While Bluetooth 5.2 is included, the card is optimized for WiFi performance.
The WiFi 6E Leader
With carefully designed engineering and supporting software, the ASUS WiFi 6E total solution ensures optimized capabilities and performance.
* PCE-AXE5400 only supports PCI-Express x1 standard, please install the adapter in PCI-e x1 slot.
Least Congested WiFi
ASUS PCE-AXE5400 is a WiFi 6E PCIe® card that allows your PC to connect to a WiFi 6E router via the dedicated 6 GHz band. This means it will not compete for bandwidth with non-WiFi 6E devices. The 6 GHz band provides up to seven extra 160 MHz channels, providing more bandwidth, more flexibility, and less congestion.
Ultrafast WiFi 6E Desktop Upgrade
With WiFi 6E's 6 GHz technology and wide 160 MHz channels, PCE-AXE5400 delivers wireless speeds that are up to 4.6X faster* than WiFi 5 devices, making it perfect for even the most bandwidth-demanding tasks.
*Comparison based on a 2x2 160 MHz WiFi 6E PCIe card versus a 2x2 80 MHz WiFi 5 PCIe card
Low Latency. Fast WiFi.
PCE-AXE5400 adds powerful OFDMA and MU-MIMO functionality your PC. Instead of making your PC wait in turn with other connected devices when transferring wireless data to the router, these technologies allow each device's data to be sent simultaneously. The result is increased network efficiency and lower latency for maximum WiFi performance.
Enhanced Network Security with WPA3
PCE-AXE5400 uses the WPA3 WiFi security protocol, providing your PC with an extra layer of protection against external attacks to give you added peace of mind.
