ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDPG - 27" 1440p 500Hz QD-OLED
The ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDPG is a 27-inch 1440p 500Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor built for competitive players who want the fastest possible refresh rate without sacrificing colour accuracy or OLED contrast. It combines a 0.03ms response time with 99% DCI-P3 coverage and VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certification, making it suited to both fast-paced competitive gaming and colour-rich single-player titles. ASUS OLED Care Pro — including the Neo Proximity Sensor and a custom internal heatsink — addresses the burn-in concern that has historically made buyers hesitant about OLED panels.
Why this product
500Hz refresh rate on a QD-OLED panel
Combining a 500Hz refresh rate with 0.03ms (GTG) response time, this monitor targets the fastest competitive gaming use cases where every frame matters.
OLED Care Pro with Neo Proximity Sensor
The Neo Proximity Sensor detects when no user is present and switches the display to a black screen automatically, reducing the risk of burn-in over the monitor's lifetime.
OLED Anti-Flicker 2.0 for comfortable long sessions
A new luminance compensation algorithm reduces flicker by 20% compared to previous-generation panels, keeping viewing comfortable even during extended play.
99% DCI-P3 and true 10-bit colour
VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certification, Delta E < 2 accuracy, and 99% DCI-P3 coverage deliver accurate, vivid colour for both gaming and creative work.
Dual sync: G-SYNC Compatible and FreeSync Premium Pro
It supports both NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, so tear-free, low-latency gaming is available regardless of which GPU platform you use.
Custom heatsink improves cooling and longevity
An exclusive internal heatsink and airflow design help manage panel temperatures, further reducing the risk of burn-in over the life of the display.

- NVIDIA GPU users: G-SYNC Compatible certification ensures tear-free variable refresh rate output.
- AMD GPU users: FreeSync Premium Pro support provides low-latency, tear-free visuals.
- DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC and two HDMI 2.1 (FRL) ports support a wide range of current gaming PCs and consoles.
- USB hub (2× USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A) allows direct connection of peripherals at the display.
- Achieving the full 500Hz refresh rate requires a GPU and DisplayPort cable capable of supporting that bandwidth; lower refresh rates are available over HDMI 2.1.
- Peak brightness of 1,000 cd/m² is available in HDR mode; typical SDR brightness is 300 cd/m², which may read lower than some high-ambient-light environments demand.
Best for
- Competitive and esports players who benefit from a 500Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time to reduce motion blur and input lag.
- Gamers prioritising colour and contrast who want OLED black levels alongside 99% DCI-P3 coverage and VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black.
- Multi-GPU-platform households — compatible with both NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro without needing a different monitor for each.
- Long-session users concerned about burn-in who value the OLED Care Pro suite, Neo Proximity Sensor and custom heatsink designed to extend panel life.
- Players who value warranty coverage: the 3-year warranty explicitly includes panel burn-in, which most display warranties exclude.
Trade-offs
- High-ambient-light environments: typical brightness is 300 cd/m², which may wash out in very bright rooms even with peak HDR brightness reaching 1,000 cd/m².
- Ultra-wide or large-screen buyers: this is a 27-inch 16:9 panel — there is no ultra-wide or larger format option in this model.
- 4K resolution seekers: the panel is QHD (2560 × 1440), not 4K UHD, so fine detail at close viewing distances is lower than a 4K display of the same size.
- Budget-conscious buyers: QD-OLED at 500Hz carries a significant price premium over equivalent-size IPS or VA gaming monitors.
The ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDPG is a 27-inch, 500Hz QHD gaming monitor. The cutting-edge QD-OLED panel offers greater longevity compared to previous OLED technologies and minimal flicker―even when frame rates fluctuate. With the addition of the Neo Proximity Sensor in the new ROG OLED Care Pro suite, the monitor transitions to a black screen when no user is detected, guarding against burn-in.
An innovative custom heatsink and a unique internal airflow improve cooling and reduce the risk of burn-in.
The XG27AQDPG features AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technology and NVIDIA® G-SYNC® compatibility, ensuring supersmooth, tear-free visuals with low latency.
Extensive connectivity options such as DisplayPort™ 1.4 with Display Stream Compression (DSC), two HDMI® 2.1, and a USB hub provide support for a wide array of multimedia devices.
