ASUS RT-BE92U BE9700 Tri-Band WiFi 7 Router - 9700 Mbps
The ASUS RT-BE92U is a tri-band WiFi 7 router delivering up to 9700 Mbps across a 6 GHz, 5 GHz, and 2.4 GHz band. It suits households and small offices with many connected devices, high-bandwidth activities like 8K streaming and gaming, and a need for extended coverage via AiMesh expansion.
Why this product
WiFi 7 with 320 MHz channels in 6 GHz
The 6 GHz band supports 320 MHz-wide channels and 4096-QAM modulation, delivering the majority of the 9700 Mbps total throughput. This reduces congestion and enables stable multi-device connectivity.
Up to 20 Gbps wired capacity
One 10 Gbps port, one 2.5 Gbps port, and three additional 2.5 Gbps LAN ports allow high-speed wired connections for NAS, media servers and desktop computers.
Multi-link Operation for stable roaming
The router connects devices to multiple bands simultaneously, keeping them on the strongest signal as you move through your home without dropping the connection.
Commercial-grade security and VPN
AiProtection Pro (powered by Trend Micro) includes malicious site blocking and two-way IPS. Instant Guard and five VPN server types allow secure remote access and public WiFi protection.
Smart Home Master for IoT management
Create up to three separate SSIDs and easily isolate IoT devices on their own network, with built-in parental controls for up to 64 profiles.
AiMesh-ready for whole-home coverage
Pair this router with compatible ASUS mesh nodes to extend WiFi 7 coverage throughout your entire home under a single network name.

Best for
- Large homes or offices requiring whole-home WiFi 7 coverage, especially when expanded with AiMesh nodes.
- Heavy bandwidth users: 8K streaming, online gaming, content creation and simultaneous video calls on many devices.
- Networks with dozens of connected IoT devices, using Smart Home Master to isolate and manage them separately.
- Users who need high-speed wired backhaul: the 10 Gbps and 2.5 Gbps ports support gigabit-scale transfers.
- Remote workers and privacy-conscious users, thanks to built-in VPN servers and commercial-grade security.
Trade-offs
- Small apartments or single-room spaces where a standard WiFi 6 router would suffice.
- Budget-conscious buyers: this is a flagship model with a price reflecting its WiFi 7 hardware and 10 Gbps port.
- Users without WiFi 7 or WiFi 6E devices, since the 6 GHz and most advanced features require compatible client hardware.
- Networks that do not require wired gigabit+ backhaul; the premium port configuration is an advantage only if actively used.
