ASUS TUF Gaming VG249Q5A 23.8" 200Hz Fast-IPS Monitor
The ASUS TUF Gaming VG249Q5A is a 23.8-inch gaming monitor built for competitive play and fast-paced action. It combines a 200Hz refresh rate with a 0.3ms response time to eliminate lag and blur, while variable refresh rate support and a Fast-IPS panel keep motion smooth and visuals sharp.
Why this product
200Hz refresh rate with 0.3ms response
This monitor is built for rapid gameplay. The 200Hz panel and minimal response time mean you see enemy movement and your own actions with minimal latency, crucial in competitive titles.
G-SYNC Compatible and FreeSync Premium
It works with both NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards to eliminate tearing and stuttering across a wide range of frame rates.
Fast-IPS panel with 99% sRGB
The panel delivers wide viewing angles and accurate colour, so visuals stay clear from almost any seat and games look as intended.
Extreme Low Motion Blur technology
ELMB Sync reduces ghosting and motion blur during fast camera movement without sacrificing smoothness.
Gaming AI and DisplayWidget Center
Dynamic Crosshair overlays adjust to game content, and a mouse-driven on-screen menu makes it quick to tweak brightness, contrast and game-specific presets.

- Works with AMD graphics cards via FreeSync Premium, enabling adaptive refresh without stuttering or tearing.

- No height adjustment is available, so monitor height is fixed — positioning relies on a monitor arm or the tilt range of +23° to –5°.
Best for
- Competitive multiplayer gamers who prioritize response time and refresh rate over pixel density.
- Fast-paced action and first-person shooter players where 200Hz and 0.3ms response make a measurable difference.
- Budget-conscious buyers wanting high refresh rates without stepping up to 27-inch or higher-resolution screens.
- Players with either NVIDIA or AMD graphics, thanks to broad variable refresh rate support.
Trade-offs
- Content creators and designers — 1920 × 1080 resolution and lack of height adjustment limit productivity workflows.
- Esports or professional setups requiring multiple monitors — no height or pivot adjustment means awkward positioning if daisy-chaining displays.
- Mac users or those using USB-C docking stations — only DisplayPort and HDMI are available; no USB-C or Thunderbolt.
- Film work or color-critical tasks — while 99% sRGB is broad, this is a gaming monitor, not a reference display; no factory calibration data is included.
- NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible
- AMD FreeSync Premium
- ELMB (Extreme Low Motion Blur)
- Dynamic Crosshair
- AI Visual
- 99% sRGB
