ASUS Zenbook S 14 UX5406SA - Core Ultra 7, 32GB, 1TB, Touch
The ASUS Zenbook S 14 UX5406SA is a compact 14-inch laptop built for professionals and creators who need capable AI-assisted performance without carrying a heavy machine. Its Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 2 processor, 32GB of on-package memory, and 1TB NVMe SSD handle demanding multitasking, while the 3K OLED touchscreen and up to 27-hour battery life make it practical for long days away from a desk.
Why this product
Copilot+ PC with 47 TOPS NPU
The Intel AI Boost NPU delivers up to 47 TOPS, qualifying this laptop for Microsoft's Copilot+ feature set including on-device AI tasks without relying on a cloud connection.
3K OLED touch display, 120Hz refresh
The 14-inch, 2880×1800 panel covers 100% DCI-P3, hits 500 nits HDR peak brightness, and carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500, PANTONE, TÜV Rheinland, and SGS Eye Care certifications.
Up to 27-hour battery with fast charging
A 72Wh four-cell battery supports Fast-Charge technology that reaches 60% in 49 minutes, reducing downtime between sessions.
Ceraluminum chassis under 1.2 kg
The all-metal body is CNC-milled from Ceraluminum, a ceramic-metal composite, resulting in a chassis that measures 0.47 to 0.51 inches thick and weighs 1.2 kg.
Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity
Two Thunderbolt 4 ports support display output and power delivery at up to 40Gbps, and the triple-band Wi-Fi 7 adapter adds Bluetooth 5.4.
Harman/Kardon four-speaker audio
Smart Amp Technology drives four built-in speakers tuned by Harman/Kardon, paired with an array microphone for calls and recordings.

- HDMI 2.1 TMDS output allows direct connection to external displays and projectors without an adapter.
- One M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot is present; the installed 1TB drive can in principle be replaced, though this is the only storage expansion available.

Best for
- Mobile professionals who need a full-day machine: the 72Wh battery is rated for up to 27 hours and the 1.2 kg chassis fits easily in a carry-on.
- Creative and content work requiring accurate colour: the 100% DCI-P3 OLED panel is PANTONE Validated, making it suitable for photo editing and video grading.
- AI-assisted workflows: the 47 TOPS NPU meets the Copilot+ threshold and can accelerate on-device AI features in supported Windows 11 applications.
- Users who value build quality: the Ceraluminum chassis is precision CNC-milled, and the slim 0.47–0.51-inch profile does not compromise port selection.
- Desk extenders: Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI 2.1 mean two external displays or a full dock can be connected without adapters.
Trade-offs
- Discrete GPU workloads: graphics are handled by the integrated Intel Arc GPU only; there is no dedicated graphics card for high-end 3D rendering or AAA gaming.
- Enterprise IT environments: ASUS itself states Windows 11 Home is not recommended for business; domain join, BitLocker management, and Group Policy features require a Pro upgrade.
- Buyers needing future memory upgrades: RAM is soldered on-package at 32GB and cannot be expanded beyond that.
- Users requiring more than one storage slot: only a single M.2 2280 slot is present; there is no secondary drive bay or SD card slot listed.
- Power users needing a high-wattage charger: the included adapter is rated at 68W, which may limit sustained performance under prolonged heavy CPU loads compared to higher-wattage systems.
