ASUS ZenWiFi BD4 2-Pack White WiFi 7 Dual-Band Mesh System
The ASUS ZenWiFi BD4 2-Pack WiFi 7 Dual-Band Mesh System is designed for households that need reliable whole-home coverage without dead zones or dropped connections. It suits homeowners upgrading to WiFi 7 who want a mesh network that can grow alongside new devices and smarter home setups. Two nodes cover up to 4,900 sq. ft. across four or more rooms, with built-in security and parental controls managed from a single app.
Why this product
WiFi 7 with MLO across both bands
Multi-Link Operation combines or switches between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands to reduce buffering. Both Simultaneous MLO and Alternating MLO are supported, making it compatible with current and future WiFi 7 devices.
Up to 3,600 Mbps dual-band throughput
The 2.4 GHz radio delivers up to 688 Mbps and the 5 GHz radio delivers up to 2,882 Mbps, with 160 MHz channel support and 4096-QAM for denser data encoding.
Dual 2.5G ports for wired backhaul
Each node carries two 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN auto-detecting Ethernet ports, allowing a wired backhaul between nodes for stronger, more consistent inter-node connectivity.
AiMesh scales across compatible ASUS routers
AiMesh lets you add compatible ASUS routers to the mesh, extending coverage under one network name with shared settings, security policies and smart home features.
AiProtection Pro active 24/7
Commercial-grade AiProtection Pro includes malicious site blocking, two-way IPS, and infected device prevention, running continuously without a subscription requirement.
Quad-core 1.5 GHz CPU and 512 MB RAM
The onboard processor and memory headroom help the system manage many simultaneous connected devices without slowing down management or security functions.

- Works as a standalone dual-band WiFi 7 router in Wireless Router Mode.
- Operates as an AiMesh node, integrating into an existing ASUS AiMesh network.
- Supports Access Point Mode for connection to an existing router or modem.
- Compatible with Google Assistant for voice-based network management.
- Backward-compatible with WiFi 4, WiFi 5 and WiFi 6 devices via IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax standards.
- MLO features require client devices that also support WiFi 7; older devices connect at their own maximum standard without MLO benefits.
Best for
- Larger homes needing whole-home coverage — two nodes cover up to 4,900 sq. ft. across four or more rooms, with the option to add a third node for up to 6,500 sq. ft.
- Households with many connected devices — MU-MIMO, OFDMA and beamforming help manage simultaneous connections efficiently.
- Users who want built-in security without extra subscriptions — AiProtection Pro with two-way IPS and malicious site blocking is included at no additional cost.
- Homes with thick walls or challenging layouts — the wired 2.5G backhaul option between nodes maintains strong inter-node links where wireless backhaul would struggle.
- Early adopters of WiFi 7 devices — 4096-QAM, 160 MHz channels and full MLO support position this system for current and upcoming WiFi 7 client hardware.
Trade-offs
- Single-room or small apartment use — a two-node mesh system is more hardware than a compact single-unit router requires for a small space.
- Users needing more than two wired Ethernet LAN ports per node — each node has only two 2.5G ports shared between WAN and LAN use.
- Tri-band mesh seekers — this is a dual-band system; it does not offer a dedicated wireless backhaul band separate from client traffic bands.
- Buyers on a very limited power budget — each node requires its own AC adapter (110–240 V, 12 V / 1.5 A max), so two nodes draw two power connections.
The ASUS ZenWiFi series advances your ever-evolving smart home with worry-free WiFi. The ASUS ZenWiFi BD4 raises the bar for whole-home mesh with WiFi 7 and next-gen AiMesh technology. It delivers blazing-fast dual-band speeds up to 3.6 Gbps and unleashes superior WiFi performance. Along with ultra-high-speed dual 2.5 Gigabit auto-detect ports and a suite of advanced network and security technologies, this mesh WiFi system is ready to future-proof your smart home network today.
WiFi 7 Powering Premium Mesh
The ZenWiFi BD4 unleashes blazing-fast dual-band WiFi 7 speeds up to 3600 Mbps, ensuring seamless streaming, gaming, and compatibility with your legacy IoT devices.
Comprehensive MLO Support
Multi-Link Operation (MLO) enables buffering-free connection by intelligently combining and switching between the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. The ZenWiFi BD4 is built to be future-proof with all WiFi 7 devices, regardless of the MLO mode they use. Simultaneous MLO aggregates multiple bands for higher data transmission; Alternating MLO switches seamlessly between 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.
Advanced 160 MHz Channels
The ZenWiFi BD4 supports ultrawide 160 MHz channels, delivering ultrafast data transfer rates, reduced latency, and enhanced performance for a smoother network experience.
Efficient 4K-QAM Transmission
Compared to 1024-QAM with WiFi 6/6E, 4096-QAM allows each signal to more densely incorporate larger amounts of data, delivering up to 20%* more efficient data transmission.
WiFi 7 Powering AiMesh
ZenWiFi BD4 harnesses the power of WiFi 7 and next-gen AiMesh technology to deliver wider coverage, a more stable and secure network and a feature-rich network experience - all under one network name for your entire smart home. A 3-pack covers up to 6,500 sq. ft. (5+ Rooms). A 2-pack covers up to 4,900 sq. ft. (4+ Rooms).
Scalable 2.5G Connectivity
Experience lightning-fast speeds even in homes with thick walls. With dual 2.5G WAN/LAN ports, you can extend the 2.5 Gbps wired backhaul between mesh nodes for strong, seamless connectivity, ensuring your entire home network stays connected and ready for the future.
Values Beyond Extension
AiMesh goes beyond just extending coverage or seamless roaming. It works with all compatible ASUS routers, offering easy management, advanced security and smart home features across your entire network.
