Mercusys MS105GP 5-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch 4-Port PoE+
The Mercusys MS105GP is a 5-port gigabit desktop switch with four PoE+ ports, designed for small offices, dormitories, and surveillance deployments. It consolidates power and data on a single cable, eliminating the need for separate power adapters and reducing installation complexity. Extend Mode pushes PoE coverage to 250 m, making it suitable for camera deployments across larger areas.
Why this product
Four PoE+ ports, one cable
Ports 1–4 deliver up to 30 W each from a shared 65 W budget, powering cameras, access points, IP phones, and video recorders without separate power runs.
Extend Mode reaches 250 m
Long-distance PoE transmission for wide-area surveillance installations, though port speed reduces to 10 Mbps in this mode.
Plug-and-play setup
Auto-negotiation and MDI/MDIX mean no configuration is needed—connect and it works immediately.
Built-in traffic isolation
One-click isolation mode separates ports 1–4 traffic to prevent snooping, tampering, and broadcast storms.
Auto-restart for powered devices
The switch detects when PoE-powered devices stop sending data and automatically reboots them.

- IEEE 802.3af/at compliant powered devices including IP cameras, wireless access points, IP phones, video recorders, and computers.
- All five ports support 10/100/1000 Mbps auto-negotiation; works with legacy 10/100 Mbps equipment.
- Extend Mode reduces port speed to 10 Mbps; use for stationary devices like cameras, not bandwidth-sensitive applications.
Best for
- Small-office and dormitory surveillance
- Wide-area camera deployments via Extend Mode
- Installations where power outlets are scarce or inaccessible
- Teams needing traffic isolation for security or broadcast storm prevention
Trade-offs
- High-bandwidth applications. The 65 W PoE budget across four ports limits simultaneous high-power draws; total throughput on shared ports is 1 Gbps.
- Extend Mode with devices requiring >10 Mbps. Speed downgrades to 10 Mbps when long-distance mode is active, making it unsuitable for streaming or real-time data.
- Rack or wall mounting. This is a desktop switch; the metal casing and compact footprint are designed for tabletop placement.
All five ports of the MS105GP are gigabit ports, with four PoE+ ports (1-4). Each PoE+ port supports a maximum of 30 W and is compliant with the 802.3af/at Powered Devices. The total 65 W PoE power budget* for the 4× PoE+ ports enables a variety of uses, including surveillance for offices, dormitories, and small businesses. IP cameras, access points, IP phones, PCs, video recorders, and more are all completely compatible with it.
No need for electricians; simplify installation and deployment. Getting rid of extra cables and power adapters will save money on infrastructure. Deployment in complex situations is made possible by more placement possibilities. Improves power usage while intelligently protecting your gadgets from power surges. PoE ports compliant with the 802.3af/at Powered Devices. Extend Mode** increases PoE transmission distance to 250 m.
MS105GP has four long-range ports with PoE+. Turn on the Extend Mode and make it ideal for installing surveillance cameras over wide areas.
With only one click, isolation mode divides traffic for ports 1-4 to prevent snooping/tampering and isolate broadcast storms for greater protection. Prioritizing the data of specific ports would ensure the high quality of delicate applications, such as voice and video, in crucial business domains.
MS105GP offers auto-negotiation (10/100/1000 M) and automated MDI/MDIX. There is no additional configuration needed. It is simple to use and saves time and effort.
The switch continuously detects data transmission with PoE-powered devices (PD). When a PD stops sending data packets to the switch for an extended length of time, the switch will reboot it automatically.
MS105GP's durable metal case allows for efficient heat dissipation, excellent signal interference prevention, equipment stability, and long network life.
*PoE budget calculations are based on laboratory testing. Actual PoE power budget is not guaranteed and will vary as a result of client limitations and environmental factors.
**The speed of the ports in extend mode will downgrade to 10 Mbps. The actual transmission distance may vary due to power consumption of PoE-powered devices or the cable quality and type.
